Compensation for Stress and Aggravation.
When injured in an accident, can a person be compensated for all of their stress and aggravation of what has happened to them?
The answer is generally no. There is no way to quantify from a monetary perspective, a person’s stress of being in an accident, the inconvenience, hassle and aggravation that a car accident may cause. A person is entitled under Wisconsin law to receive monetary compensation for payment of their medical and hospital bills, lost income from work, pain and suffering, and permanent injury. In more serious cases, there may also be a claim for loss of society and companionship where the injured party is married and if permanently disabled, compensation for future economic loss of income.
